The trick is I don't think Colonial House ever had a heyday. It was a failed real estate venture. I road passed that complex on a Metro bus everyday in the early 80's going from West U to Strake Jesuit. Thought the juxtaposition of those ads and reality was almost magnetic opposite.

All I can think is, it was genius to throw in the "Lady of The Lake". I love HER story. This place was probably enjoying its 80's heyday, when I was a teen hanging out of the trunk of a car as we cruised Westheimer and looked for parking near #'s... back when you could cruise Westheimer bumper to bumper.

I had totally forgotten about those, thanks for reminding me... that little jingle tune is now gonna be stuck in my mind for who knows how long. "Colonial House..."

All kidding aside, this was a great homage to the houston of those days. I remember it from visits to my cousins who lived in SW houston just on the other side of the loop. We followed the astros and the rockets and imagined that all them super sports starts must have lived in places like colonial house.
